Job Purpose
The Liaison Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the UN Verification Mission in Colombia's mandate concerning security guarantees. The purpose of this role is to provide expert advice and strategic networking to key bodies involved in implementing security guarantee policies, particularly focusing on the National Commission for Security Guarantees. This involves promoting public policy for dismantling illegal armed groups and criminal organizations, drafting analysis reports, and recommending actions. The role also involves staying updated on the progress of security guarantee implementation, including a gender perspective, and providing information on the Colombia Peace Process and Final Peace Agreement. Furthermore, the incumbent will foster strategic partnerships, coordinate with UN entities and international organizations, monitor stakeholder actions, and prepare briefing materials for senior management.
Responsibilities

Ensuring adherence to UNVMC policies, code of conduct, and integrating a gender-sensitive approach are also key duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in political affairs, international relations, security, justice, mediation, conflict resolution, or gender is required. Experience working with national or international entities on public policies related to the Colombian Peace Agreement is desirable, as is experience within the UN System, government, NGOs, or international organizations, particularly in Latin America.
