AI/ML Developer Consultant

Organizational Context

The United Nations Office at Vienna seeks an AI/ML Developer Consultant to contribute to data processing and modeling initiatives. This role is based in Vienna, with potential travel, and is part of a project with an expected duration of 9 months, extendable.

Job Purpose

The AI/ML Developer Consultant will be responsible for designing and developing a detailed system, including potential text field vectorization, word embedding algorithms, classification models, and interpretation algorithms. This involves creating front-end components for user interaction and back-end components for model integration and API development. The role also includes user interface design, API integration, conducting user testing, and preparing final deployment and training materials for a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Chief to deliver a clean, reproducible codebase and comprehensive technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Design and develop a detailed system, including text field vectorization, word embedding algorithms, classification models, and interpretation algorithms. Create front-end components for user interaction and back-end components for model integration and API development. Design and implement user interfaces. Integrate APIs for seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems. Develop ETL scripts for Analytical Base Table (ABT) creation, identify data quality issues, and implement data cleaning pipelines. Conduct exploratory data analysis, build and validate supervised ML models, and implement model interpretability tools. Test algorithmic logic, refine models based on feedback, and conduct front-end and back-end testing. Deploy a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and develop user training materials.

Work Experience

Seven years of overall experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive models, graph analytics, Python, SQL, Kubernetes, Microservices, Asana, predictive modelling, forecasting, and NLP is required.
