Job Purpose
The Graphic Design Consultant will provide high-quality visual communication support to the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Turkmenistan. This role is crucial for developing a wide range of strategic, analytical, and communication products, including reports, publications, fact sheets, policy briefs, and digital materials. The consultant will ensure that all outputs effectively communicate results, policy messages, and evidence-based analysis, aligning with the UN's next Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2026-2030) and supporting the UNCT's coordination efforts.
Responsibilities
Core duties include designing and laying out UN reports and publications for both print and digital formats. This involves creating country situation updates, fact sheets, policy briefs, and concept notes. The consultant will also develop infographics, charts, maps, icons, and other data visualization products, transforming complex data into clear, reader-friendly layouts. A key responsibility is ensuring all designs comply with UN branding and visibility guidelines, maintaining consistency across various products and language versions. The role also includes reviewing photo selections, advising on image quality, and preparing print-ready files and web-optimized PDFs, including submission of source files.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic production, from initial concept to final published product, is required. This includes knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management. Experience with design software like Adobe Creative Suite (In-Design, etc.) and web design tools is necessary. Previous experience with UNCT annual reports or CCA products is desirable.
