Organizational Context
The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Kyrgyzstan is seeking an Evaluation Support Intern. This unpaid internship is for nationals of Kyrgyzstan and will support the independent evaluation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023–2027 and the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) Portfolio Review. The role is based in Bishkek and will assist in coordinating a complex evaluation process involving multiple stakeholders.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to provide crucial support to the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Kyrgyzstan for the independent evaluation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023–2027 and the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) Portfolio Review. The intern will contribute to the effective implementation of the evaluation process by assisting with coordination, documentation, data management, and stakeholder engagement. This role aims to ensure the timely and efficient execution of evaluation activities, which will assess UN support to Kyrgyzstan and generate recommendations for future cooperation frameworks. The intern will gain practical experience in evaluation management within a UN context.
Responsibilities
The Evaluation Support Intern will provide comprehensive support across several key areas. This includes assisting with the preparation and organization of evaluation-related meetings, scheduling stakeholder consultations, and managing logistical arrangements for evaluation activities. The intern will also be responsible for maintaining documentation, including organizing and archiving evaluation-related materials in a structured electronic repository, and supporting document quality control. Furthermore, the role involves assisting with the compilation and organization of quantitative and qualitative data, supporting basic data analysis, and maintaining relevant databases. The intern will also aid in communication with stakeholders, support the preparation of reports and presentations, and provide general administrative support for the evaluation process, including tracking deadlines and deliverables.
Work Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, experience with research, data collection, or evaluation activities is desirable. Familiarity with data visualization tools is also considered an asset. The role requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
