Programme Management Specialist
Organizational Context
The UN Secretariat, Department of Peace Operations, is seeking a Programme Management Specialist to provide remote support for up to 50 working days between July 2026 and March 2027. This role will focus on programme documentation, proposal development, donor reporting, and strategic material drafting, delivered on an as-needed basis.
Job Purpose
The Programme Management Specialist will provide essential remote support for programme management, drafting, and analytical tasks. This includes developing and refining programme documents, proposals, and results frameworks, as well as supporting donor reporting and resource mobilization efforts. The role contributes to the effective planning, quality assurance, and delivery of programme outputs, ensuring alignment with UNMAS priorities and donor requirements. The specialist will facilitate coordination and communication among stakeholders, ultimately supporting the successful execution of UNMAS programmes in Ukraine.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include preparing and supporting the development of various programme documents such as proposals, concept notes, and strategic materials. The specialist will review and refine draft materials for clarity, accuracy, and consistency with UNMAS priorities and United Nations standards. They will also support the creation of planning and resource mobilization materials, including narrative inputs and results frameworks. Conducting desk reviews and analysis of relevant documents, consolidating inputs from diverse stakeholders, and preparing written inputs for internal and external coordination are also crucial. The role involves providing quality assurance for written products, ensuring substantive editing and consistency, and maintaining regular communication with supervisors and colleagues.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in programme management, project management, donor reporting, resource mobilization, or related humanitarian/development fields is required. Experience in drafting proposals and programme documents is essential. Experience with UN programmes, peace operations, or field-based programmes in conflict settings is desirable.
