The UN Secretariat's Resident Coordinator System is seeking a Graphic Designer to produce two key strategic documents: the UN Multi-Country Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and the Trinidad and Tobago 2025 Common Country Analysis. This role, based in Trinidad and Tobago, will ensure these publications effectively communicate UN priorities and champion the Sustainable Development Goals across the Caribbean.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to professionally design and lay out two critical UN strategic documents, the MCSDCF and the Trinidad and Tobago 2025 CCA. The Graphic Designer will convert existing draft documents into publication-ready reports, establishing a distinct visual identity for each in compliance with UN branding guidelines. This involves creating compelling layouts, redesigning visuals, and ensuring the final products effectively communicate the UN's strategic vision, analysis, and programming priorities to a diverse audience, including governments, development partners, and the public, while promoting the Sustainable Development Goals within Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean region.
Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for the complete design and layout of the UN Multi-Country Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and the Trinidad and Tobago 2025 Common Country Analysis, transforming draft documents into professional, publication-ready reports. This includes developing a unique visual identity for each document, adhering to UN branding guidelines and the SDG colour palette. Key duties involve designing all publication elements, establishing consistent typography and styling, and redesigning figures, charts, graphs, and maps to a professional standard. The role also requires creating original infographics and data visualizations, sourcing and integrating high-quality visuals, and preparing files for both digital distribution and print production, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. Incorporating feedback and delivering editable source files are also essential responsibilities.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of demonstrated professional experience in graphic design and desktop publishing, specifically including the layout of long-form reports or strategic documents (60+ pages), is required. Experience designing publications for the UN or similar international organizations, governments, or institutional clients is also required. Proven experience in creating data visualizations, infographics, charts, and maps from raw data is an asset.
