The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Central Asia works to promote youth well-being and prevent substance abuse. This role supports the Regional Youth Network for Central Asia (RYNCA), a platform for youth engagement in drug use prevention and policy dialogue, contributing to UNODC's broader mandate.
Job Purpose
This role serves to provide overall coordination and administrative support for the Regional Youth Network for Central Asia (RYNCA). The purpose is to facilitate the network's activities, enhance its visibility, and contribute to UNODC's youth initiative by empowering young people in drug use prevention and healthy lifestyle promotion. The position will support the implementation of various programs, organize youth consultations, manage membership databases, and ensure effective communication and reporting, ultimately strengthening the network's impact in Central Asia.
Responsibilities
Provide overall administrative support to the RYNCA, including compiling data and preparing summaries for national and regional youth-driven drug prevention activities. Manage and update the RYNCA membership database. Coordinate logistical arrangements for youth consultations, round tables, and campaigns, including participant lists, scheduling, and material preparation. Disseminate RYNCA results through informational materials and outreach. Maintain correspondence logs and administrative coordination for specific programs like 'Friends in Focus'. Enhance communication and visibility by regularly updating RYNCA activities on social media platforms and the website. Prepare administrative inputs for mid-term and final progress reports, detailing activities, achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in clerical, logistical, or administrative support is required. Experience in supporting local youth projects is essential. Familiarity with managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) is necessary. Experience or knowledge in drug abuse prevention programs for young people is desirable.
