The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Central Asia is launching the Regional Youth Network for Central Asia (RYNCA) to empower young people in drug use prevention and healthy lifestyle promotion. This role supports RYNCA's national implementation and outreach efforts, operating home-based across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Job Purpose
This role serves as the National Focal Point for the Regional Youth Network for Central Asia (RYNCA), supporting UNODC's mandate to promote youth well-being and prevent substance abuse. The purpose is to facilitate youth engagement in policy dialogue, decision-making, and the development of innovative prevention strategies. The role will contribute to expanding RYNCA's membership, disseminating information, and supporting youth-led initiatives across Central Asia, ultimately fostering healthier lifestyles and safer communities.
Responsibilities
The National Focal Point will manage outreach by disseminating RYNCA informational materials and maintaining distribution lists. Responsibilities include acting as an administrative liaison for the Friends in Focus Programme, managing national correspondence and documentation. The role involves maintaining an updated RYNCA membership registry and providing clerical support for its expansion. Logistical and administrative support for organizing local youth consultations, round tables, and awareness campaigns on key dates is required. Additionally, the focal point will track priority services, support youth-driven drug prevention activities, and manage routine updates and basic statistics for RYNCA's social media platforms. Reporting includes preparing mid-term and final progress reports detailing administrative deliverables and achievements.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in clerical, logistical, or administrative support is required. Experience supporting local youth projects is essential. Proficiency in using and administering social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) is necessary. Experience or knowledge in drug abuse prevention programs for youth is desirable.
