Organizational Context
The EUROBATS Secretariat, located in Bonn, Germany, operates under the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS). This internship is within the EUROBATS Secretariat, co-located with other CMS agreements.
Job Purpose
This six-month internship within the EUROBATS Secretariat in Bonn, Germany, aims to support the Secretariat's communication and outreach activities. The intern will contribute to developing and implementing communication strategies, managing social media channels, preparing website content, and assisting with campaign-related work, including the International Bat Night campaign. The role involves supporting meeting preparation, document management, and disseminating information materials to promote bat conservation efforts across Europe.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing communication and outreach activities, including establishing and maintaining social media channels. Prepare communication content for the EUROBATS website and other platforms, drafting articles, news items, and announcements. Support the International Bat Night campaign by updating website content, liaising with organizers, and coordinating material distribution. Aid in disseminating information materials and outreach products. Assist in preparing and formatting official EUROBATS documents and meeting materials. Help compile and update contact lists, mailing lists, and databases. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Secretariat.
Work Experience
No professional work experience is required for this internship. However, candidates should possess good knowledge of standard software applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Writing skills for drafting news articles and social media posts are desired, along with excellent attention to detail for document preparation and review.
