Job Purpose
This internship supports the implementation of the Community of Practice (CoP) on Behavioural Science (BeSci) work plan within UNEP's Office of Science. The intern will contribute to understanding and integrating BeSci principles into UNEP's environmental work. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in environmental science policy, research support, and inter-organizational collaboration. The position is based in Nairobi and is expected to last for six months, offering valuable exposure to the UN's approach to environmental governance and science-based solutions.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in drafting analyses on the impact and benefits of behavioural science for UNEP's initiatives. Responsibilities include mapping existing BeSci projects within UNEP and relevant UN sister organizations, and populating the BeSci CoP's TEAMS channel with reports, publications, and event information. The role also involves supporting the organization of CoP Steering Committee meetings, including communications and notetaking, and assisting with events and webinars on behavioural science themes. Additionally, the intern will help draft outreach and communication materials and undertake other duties aligned with their educational background.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, applicants must be pursuing or have completed a relevant university degree in Behavioral Science, Business Psychology, or a related field. A strong academic background in the field of study is essential.
