Organizational Context
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Cabo Verde implements projects to strengthen national capacities against organized crime, drug trafficking, and corruption. This role provides advanced project management, coordination, and implementation support to UNODC initiatives within the country, reporting to the Regional Representative.
Job Purpose
This assignment aims to provide advanced project management, coordination, and implementation support to UNODC projects in Cabo Verde. The Individual Contractor will contribute to the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting phases of projects, ensuring timely delivery of outputs in alignment with UNODC workplans and procedures. Key contributions include supporting project activities, managing data and monitoring systems, preparing reports, ensuring administrative and compliance standards are met, facilitating stakeholder coordination, and contributing to knowledge management and quality assurance processes to enhance project delivery.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical and operational support for project implementation, ensuring alignment with workplans and timelines. Collect, compile, and analyze project data, maintaining updated monitoring systems and contributing to results-based management. Prepare high-quality draft narrative and financial reports, consolidating information from partners and ensuring timely submission. Maintain accurate and audit-ready project documentation, ensuring compliance with UNODC rules and supporting audit processes. Coordinate with national counterparts and stakeholders, organizing meetings and preparing necessary documentation. Document lessons learned and best practices, supporting quality assurance and risk identification for improved project delivery.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in project support, coordination, monitoring, and reporting is required. Experience in crime prevention, criminal justice, governance, or law enforcement is necessary. Demonstrated experience in preparing technical documentation and reports, along with a strong understanding of administrative, financial, and compliance processes, is essential. Experience coordinating with national institutions and international partners is highly desirable.
