Organizational Context
The Office of Internal Oversight Services, Inspection and Evaluation Division (OIOS-IED) in Entebbe, Uganda, conducts independent inspections and evaluations for the UN Secretariat and Member States. Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide graduate students with professional experience within the UN Secretariat's Office of Internal Oversight Services, Inspection and Evaluation Division (OIOS-IED) in Entebbe, Uganda. Under supervision, they will contribute to ongoing inspection and evaluation projects, assisting in data collection, analysis, research, and reporting. Responsibilities
Interns will support ongoing inspection and evaluation projects within OIOS-IED, contributing to assessments of UN programmes. Key duties include conducting background research and summarizing data. Interns will assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data, which may involve taking notes during stakeholder interviews, obtaining and screening documents, programming and testing online surveys, and performing statistical or geospatial analyses. They may also develop and test databases and dashboards, including data cleaning and coding, and visualize data using tools like MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI. Additional tasks include assisting with reviews and edits of evaluation products and other ad-hoc activities as required.
