UNSDCF Coordination Officer
Organizational Context
The Resident Coordinator (RC) system comprises UN organizations engaged in operational development activities. It aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these activities at the country level. The UN Secretariat, specifically the Resident Coordinator System, supports Pakistan's national and local priorities through the United Nations Sustainable Development Country Framework (UNSDCF), focusing on five key outcome areas aligned with Pakistan's development priorities and the UN's comparative advantages.
Job Purpose
The UNSDCF Coordination Officer (Consultant) will support the coordination and progress reviews of the five UNSDCF Outcome Groups under the supervision of the Head of RCO/Senior Strategic Planner. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective implementation of the UNSDCF in Pakistan, aligning UN agency efforts with national development priorities. The officer will facilitate inter-agency collaboration, manage reporting, integrate digital tools for efficiency, and specifically lead the establishment and work plan development for a Youth Working Group to integrate youth into UN Pakistan's strategies. The position contributes to the overall effectiveness of UN operational activities and the achievement of development goals in Pakistan.
Responsibilities
Serve as the focal point for five UNSDCF Outcome Groups, facilitating meetings, maintaining member lists, preparing agendas, and recording minutes. Prepare consolidated progress reports, technical briefs, and meeting notes. Coordinate between Outcome Groups, the Programme Management Team (PMT), and the Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Group (PME). Integrate digital and innovative tools to enhance coordination efficiency and impact. Collaborate with provincial-level stakeholders to ensure alignment with national priorities. Assist in reviewing and consolidating monitoring frameworks for UNSDCF implementation. Participate in stakeholder consultations and focus group discussions to ensure inclusivity. Support efforts to address data gaps and ensure the use of disaggregated, inclusive data. Assist in preparing inputs for the UNCT Annual Results Report 2024 and CCA/UNSDCF assessments. Coordinate and support youth-focused initiatives, organize quarterly Youth Group meetings, and lead the Youth Scorecard process.
Work Experience
Relevant experience in coordination, project management, or program support is required. Experience within the UN system or the development sector is considered an advantage.
