Research Intern
Organizational Context
The International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of the UN and WTO, provides technical assistance to foster trade and sustainable growth, particularly for MSMEs in developing countries. This internship is within the Office of Africa (OA), focusing on trade and development initiatives across the continent, contributing to SDG achievement.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the Office of Africa (OA) in its programme coordination, research, partnerships, and operational activities for trade and development initiatives. The role will contribute to projects focused on trade competitiveness, digital transformation, regional integration, and inclusive economic development in Africa. The intern will gain practical experience in supporting stakeholder engagement and advancing ITC's mandate by assisting with research, analysis, and the preparation of project-related documentation, ultimately supporting sustainable livelihoods and economic growth.
Responsibilities
Conduct research and analysis on economic trends, trade policy, regional integration, and SME competitiveness in African countries. Support stakeholder mapping and analysis of development partners, regional institutions, and private sector actors. Research market trends, industry practices, and policy developments relevant to trade and sustainable economic development. Assist in preparing project documents, concept notes, presentations, and reports. Support coordination of programme implementation, partnerships, meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement. Contribute to knowledge management, data organization, and communication activities for ongoing initiatives.
Work Experience

Skills
