Air Conditioning Technician

Organizational Context

The Office of the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon (UNSCOL) requires an Air Conditioning Technician to ensure the continuous operation of installed air conditioning systems within its premises in Beirut. This role is crucial for maintaining a functional working environment by preventing and promptly addressing any AC failures.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to provide essential technical support for all air conditioning and refrigeration systems within UNSCOL premises in Beirut. The technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of various AC units, including domestic and commercial types. This includes performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to ensure optimal system performance and prevent operational disruptions. The role also involves installing temperature monitoring equipment and troubleshooting a range of related appliances, contributing directly to the operational continuity and comfort of the office environment.

Responsibilities

The Air Conditioning Technician will install, maintain, service, and repair all types of air conditioning units, including window, split, cassette, floor standing, and central cooling systems. Responsibilities include performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs, as well as gas refilling and monthly check-ups. The role also involves installing temperature monitoring equipment and data loggers in sensitive areas like server rooms. Additionally, the technician will troubleshoot and repair faults in commercial and domestic appliances such as refrigerators, cooking equipment, dishwashers, water heaters, boilers, washing machines, and dryers. Providing technical specifications for spare parts and performing other duties as required, including emergency call-outs, are also key aspects of this position.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration installations is required. Experience with heavy-duty kitchen appliances and central cooling plants is desirable.
