Organizational Context
The UN Office of Data Protection and Privacy (ODPP) in New York is seeking interns to gain professional experience in data protection and privacy within an international organization. Job Purpose

Interns will supplement their academic knowledge by assisting the UN Office of Data Protection and Privacy (ODPP) with research, document review, drafting, meeting support, and other assigned tasks. The role is designed to offer hands-on experience, allowing interns to develop their skills and understanding of privacy regulations and practices in an international context, contributing to the ODPP's operational needs.
Responsibilities
Interns will assist in conducting research on data protection and privacy laws, UN resolutions, and related specialized areas. Responsibilities include reviewing documents, instruments, and other materials. Interns will also support the drafting and preparation of official documents and templates. Additional duties involve attending and taking notes at conferences and meetings, assisting in servicing these events, and contributing to website content or presentations. Performing other assigned duties to support the ODPP's operations is also expected.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, applicants must be pursuing or have completed a relevant university degree. The internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in data protection and privacy within an international organization.
Skills
Proficiency in standard software applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams). Desirable skills include the ability to draft news articles/social media posts and design surveys/polls. Fluency in English is required.
