Job Purpose
This role is crucial for laying the groundwork for future reporting, data monitoring, and analytics within the UN Secretariat's new skills-based staff selection system (Staff Selection 2.0). By collaborating with HR and IT, the incumbent will design and document essential data models, field specifications, and standard operating procedures. This ensures that the recruitment data and analysis function is robust from its inception, enabling comprehensive reporting and analytics, and avoiding costly future adjustments. The work directly contributes to the efficient and effective operation of the UN's recruitment processes by ensuring data integrity and alignment with strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include studying existing documentation and data structures within the inspira Data Warehouse. The role involves coordinating and consolidating data reporting requirements for Staff Selection 2.0, and reviewing the end-to-end process to identify critical data capture points. Supporting the design and documentation of data models for core domains like skills, job profiles, and candidate data is essential. Additionally, the role requires reviewing recruitment platform changes, developing corresponding reporting requirements, and mapping data field specifications. Input will be provided on technical change requests to ensure data sufficiency for downstream reporting and analytics. The role also contributes to developing standard operating procedures for the data and analysis team and identifying opportunities for process standardization and improvement.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in data modeling, data management, business analysis, or reporting is required. Experience with data models, dictionaries, taxonomies, and metadata standards is essential. Documenting data field requirements for system builds, reviewing data structures, and collaborating with stakeholders on requirements gathering are also required. Experience with HR, recruitment, or talent management data is desirable.
