Job Purpose
This internship within the UNJSPF's Office of Investment Management (OIM) Global Fixed Income Team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the management of a significant multi-asset class global investment portfolio. The role focuses on supporting the team's responsibilities in managing fixed income portfolios, both internal and external. The intern will gain practical experience in investment research, data analysis, and performance monitoring within a global financial management context. This position is designed to provide valuable exposure to the investment strategies and operational processes of a major international pension fund.
Responsibilities
The intern will conduct research on fixed income tactical asset allocation indicators. Key duties include collecting and collating macroeconomic and market data, developing associated databases and reports, and assisting in the enhancement of workflow and tools for asset allocation. The role also involves developing reports and dashboards for performance monitoring and analysis. Additionally, the intern will undertake specific investment research projects within fixed income sectors, contributing to the team's overall analytical capabilities and strategic insights.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, a strong academic background in a relevant field is necessary. Applicants must be students in their final year of a bachelor's degree, or enrolled in or have completed a Master's or Ph.D. program. Successful candidates must commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Skills
Research and data analysis, macroeconomic and market data collection, database management, report development, performance monitoring and analysis, workflow and tool enhancement, knowledge of standard software applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Teams). Desirable skills include drafting news articles, social media posts, and survey/poll design.
