Organizational Context
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) provides assistance and protection to approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. Its mission is to help refugees achieve their full potential in human development. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East, funded by voluntary contributions. This role reports to the Chief of TVET.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for the conceptualization, planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of effective activities at the center, based on needs assessment and market research. It involves managing administrative tasks such as logistical arrangements, budget support, and record-keeping. The incumbent will coordinate staff, ensure the optimal condition and safety of facilities and equipment, and provide support to trainees. Regular reporting to the Principal TVET Programme and relevant staff is also a key function, contributing to the overall delivery of vocational training and support services to Palestine refugees.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing center-based activities from conceptualization to reporting, including needs assessment, planning, organization, and outreach. The role involves managing administrative tasks such as logistical arrangements, budget support, and maintaining records for staff and center operations. It also requires coordinating instructors and other center staff, ensuring the safety and maintenance of classes, workshops, and equipment. The incumbent will prepare regular monthly reports and update the Principal TVET Programme and relevant field staff on activities and progress. Other assigned duties will also be performed as required.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of experience is required in social work, teaching at the secondary school level or higher, or in project component activities such as youth development, community support, life skills, vocational education, career/psychosocial guidance, or business development.
