Organizational Context
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN agency established in 1949 to assist and protect approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. Its mission is to help refugees achieve their full potential in human development. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East, funded by voluntary contributions. This role reports to the Chief of TVET.
Job Purpose
The Center Coordinator will be responsible for the effective conceptualization, planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of activities at the TVET center. This includes needs assessment, market research, outreach, and reporting. The role involves managing administrative tasks such as logistics, budget support, and record-keeping. Additionally, the incumbent will coordinate staff, provide support to trainees, ensure the safety and maintenance of facilities and equipment, and prepare regular reports for management. The purpose is to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the TVET center to support Palestine refugees' human development.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective center activities from conceptualization through planning, organization, and execution, including outreach and registration. Manage administrative tasks, including logistical arrangements, budget support, and maintaining filing and attendance records. Coordinate and facilitate the work of center staff, such as instructors and attendants, and provide support to trainees. Ensure the optimal condition and safety of classes, workshops, and center assets, including maintenance of facilities and equipment. Prepare regular monthly reports and update relevant program staff. Perform other assigned duties as required.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of experience is required in social work, teaching at the secondary school level or higher, or in project component activities related to youth development, community support, life skills, vocational education, career/psychosocial guidance, or business development.
