Organizational Context
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the global environmental authority, setting the agenda and promoting sustainable development. UNEP FI is a partnership of over 500 financial institutions driving the international sustainable finance agenda. The UNEP FI Impact Centre pioneers impact management for financial players, supporting the Principles for Responsible Banking and developing resources. This internship supports the Impact Centre's research and engagement activities.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the UNEP FI Impact Centre's research and engagement work, specifically contributing to its 2026 S2 activities. The intern will assist in developing and iterating impact mapping tools, interoperability solutions, and external engagement initiatives, particularly within the context of the Impact Management Platform. The role is designed to provide practical experience in sustainable finance and impact management, allowing the intern to contribute to UNEP FI's mission of aligning the financial industry with the Sustainable Development Goals and fostering a sustainable future. The intern's daily responsibilities will be tailored to their background and the internship period, offering a dynamic learning experience.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the UNEP FI Impact Centre's 2026 S2 activities, focusing on development and engagement. Key duties include conducting research to iterate the UNEP FI Needs Mapping and Interlinkages Mapping. The intern will also perform testing activities for the Portfolio Impact Analysis Tool for banks, specifically its Context, Identification, and ESRS Disclosure Modules. Additionally, research will be conducted to support various interoperability projects, potentially including translation. The role involves supporting the creation of implementation materials for impact analysis for PRB banks, such as workshop slide decks. Stakeholder engagement and research will also be undertaken to update the Impact Management Platform's resource database, glossary, and extranet.

Skills
Proficiency in standard software applications including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams is required. Fluency in oral and written English is essential. Knowledge of French, Portuguese, or Chinese is desirable.
