Organizational Context
The United Nations Secretariat in New York seeks an intern to support the Department of Economic and Social Affairs. This six-month internship focuses on contributing to the development and maintenance of "Cidy", a Copilot Studio multi-agent system designed to enhance internal efficiencies and client administrative support.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to contribute to the full lifecycle of "Cidy", an AI-powered multi-agent system. The intern will assist in defining system requirements, designing agent functionalities, developing and testing conversational flows, curating and structuring knowledge bases, and supporting deployment and ongoing maintenance. This role aims to improve internal operational efficiencies and provide enhanced administrative support to clients by leveraging advanced AI capabilities. The intern's contributions will directly impact the system's accuracy, reliability, and user experience, ensuring its effectiveness in managing information and supporting administrative tasks within the UN Secretariat.
Responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for designing and documenting the multi-agent architecture within Copilot Studio, including defining agent roles, tools, actions, handoff protocols, escalation paths, and guardrails. Key duties involve building agent topics, prompts, and actions, and integrating them with internal data sources like FAQs and service workflows. The role includes developing test plans and conducting functional, regression, and safety testing to ensure system accuracy and reliability. Additionally, the intern will populate and maintain the system's knowledge base by collecting, cleaning, structuring, and versioning content, and defining taxonomy and metadata. Support for deployment activities, such as environment configuration, release notes, user guidance, and change management, is also required. Post-deployment, the intern will assist in servicing and maintaining the system by triaging issues, tuning prompts and flows, updating knowledge sources, and tracking performance metrics.

Professional work experience is not required for this UN Internship Programme. However, a relevant field of study is essential. The internship focuses on practical application of skills in system development, testing, and knowledge management.
