Job Purpose
This role is responsible for leading and overseeing microfinance operations within a designated region, reporting to the Chief, Field Microfinance Programme. The Manager will guide and support 3-6 Microfinance Branches, ensuring adherence to departmental strategies, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks to minimize risks and enhance profitability. The position involves developing operational plans, setting targets, monitoring performance, and contributing to strategic decision-making by providing insights and recommendations to senior management. The role also focuses on identifying business opportunities, resolving complex challenges, fostering knowledge transfer, and ensuring effective customer service and debt collection.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement operational plans for microfinance programs at the field level, aligning with departmental strategy and policy. Lead regional microfinance operations, providing guidance and technical support to branches, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations to manage risks and improve profitability. Contribute to the development of operational procedures and manuals, and prepare comprehensive reports on credit operations, performance indicators, and risk assessments. Collaborate with branch managers to identify business opportunities, provide solutions to challenges, and facilitate best practice sharing. Analyze branch performance metrics and KPIs to drive productivity and profitability, ensuring product self-sufficiency. Develop staff capacity building plans, mentor staff, and ensure effective customer service and retention. Monitor and manage the collection of bad debts, analyzing trends to minimize the portfolio.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in the management, administration, or development of credit operations or financial administration of loan programs is required. Experience in staff development and training is also necessary.
