The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) promotes sustainable urban development and adequate housing for all. The Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ROLAC) in Rio de Janeiro supports urban development projects in Brazil. This consultancy supports the "Resilient Environment Project: Climate Adaptation of Fluminense Cities" by developing online training materials.
Job Purpose
This role is to support the implementation of the "Resilient Environment Project: Climate Adaptation of Fluminense Cities" by producing high-quality video content for an online training course. The consultant will be responsible for recording synchronous video lessons, editing them with graphics and subtitles, and ensuring alignment with project branding. The purpose is to create accessible and engaging educational materials that contribute to strengthening municipal resilience and climate adaptation efforts in the State of Rio de Janeiro, supporting the 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda.
Responsibilities
The Consultant (Video Maker) will record synchronous video lessons for the "Integrated Territorial Planning: Strategies for Municipal Resilience" course. Responsibilities include editing video and audio, segmenting lessons, and adding descriptive subtitles for accessibility. The role involves integrating necessary graphic elements, ensuring high quality and alignment with the project’s visual identity. The consultant must maintain consistency across all videos and manage an organized multimedia archive. They will also be responsible for using their own licensed software and audiovisual equipment, and for completing required security training.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of professional experience in video editing and production within Brazil is required, supported by a portfolio. Experience in recording and editing video lessons, online courses, or educational content is essential. Familiarity with online meeting platforms is desirable. Previous experience within the UN System is also considered a plus.
Skills
Video editing (Adobe Premiere or equivalent), basic graphic design (Adobe Photoshop or equivalent), recording and editing video lessons, online course content creation, multimedia archiving, familiarity with online meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams).
