Job Purpose
The Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist will strengthen the IIMP's ability to manage and interpret data related to service mapping and family needs assessments. By developing user-friendly information management tools and interactive visualizations, the specialist will enable teams to better understand available services, track engagement with service providers, and communicate findings effectively through reports and external materials. The role also involves providing strategic guidance and technical support for data review, analysis, structuring, visualization, and capacity building, ensuring tools are maintainable and support the IIMP's mandate to clarify the fate of missing persons and support affected families.
Responsibilities
Develop and deploy functional, user-friendly dashboards and data visualization tools, such as Power BI, for service mapping and family needs analysis. Clean, structure, and document datasets to ensure readiness for analysis and ongoing updates. Define core indicators, filters, and reporting views to enhance understanding of trends, needs, service coverage, and gaps. Create visual products like charts, infographics, and maps to support internal reporting and external communication. Provide guidance notes on data management, dashboard maintenance, and update procedures. Deliver basic training sessions to staff on the use and maintenance of developed dashboards and tools. Ensure developed tools are dynamic, easily updatable, and support external reporting and presentations.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, information management, or dashboard development is required. Experience with Power BI for designing and implementing dashboards and interactive reporting tools is essential. Experience in data cleaning, structuring, metadata review, and quality assessment is desirable.
