The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks a Programme Consultant based at its HQ in Vienna. This role supports the Secretariat to the Governing Bodies, focusing on substantive and communication matters related to major intergovernmental meetings.
Job Purpose
The Programme Consultant will be responsible for the comprehensive organization and management of programmes for side events, exhibitions, and ancillary meetings for key UNODC sessions, including the CCPCJ regular session and the Crime Congress. This involves coordinating with diverse internal and external stakeholders, developing and disseminating communication materials, updating relevant websites, and preparing official event programmes. The role also includes providing expert advice to stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution and success of these critical meetings, contributing to UNODC's mandate in drug control and crime prevention.
Responsibilities
Organize and manage programmes for side events and exhibitions for the CCPCJ regular session and ancillary meetings for the Crime Congress. Service programmes during the Congress in Abu Dhabi. Coordinate event programmes with internal and external stakeholders. Develop communication products and update websites related to meetings. Prepare and publish event programmes. Provide advice and support to stakeholders throughout the planning and execution phases of these significant intergovernmental gatherings.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in managing or supporting intergovernmental meetings, public information, public relations, or public administration is required. International experience in organizing large-scale events for UN intergovernmental meetings is desirable.
