The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking an external consultant to produce the final, cleared, and approved impact report for the Innovative Climate Solutions (ICS) Programme. This role operates remotely and is expected to last for 7 months, contributing to UNEP's efforts in climate technology and innovation.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver a comprehensive and high-quality impact report for the Innovative Climate Solutions (ICS) Programme. This involves synthesizing project documentation, conducting stakeholder interviews, analyzing qualitative data, and facilitating a validation workshop. The report, including its content and design, must be approved by the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and the Executive Committee (EC). This contribution is vital for showcasing the programme's achievements, lessons learned, and overall impact in the field of climate change and innovation, supporting UNEP's mandate.
Responsibilities
The consultant will conduct a thorough desk review of existing climate technology project documentation and relevant literature on climate change, innovation, and technologies. This includes performing 8 semi-structured online stakeholder interviews to gather insights for the report, with options for interpretation services if needed. Qualitative data analysis will be performed to identify key lessons learned, trends, and recommendations. The consultant is also responsible for preparing and facilitating a virtual validation workshop with Implementing Partners to refine the report's content. All consultations and workshops will be conducted in English to ensure accessibility and engagement.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in developing Knowledge Management, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials is necessary. Additionally, at least 3 years of relevant experience in the area of climate change and innovation is required.
Skills
Strong communication, analytical, and visualization skills are essential. Experience in gender-sensitive analysis is also required. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
