Job Purpose
This internship within OCHA's Technology Services Section (TSS) aims to support the organization's innovation efforts, particularly in Artificial Intelligence. The role will involve researching AI trends, experimenting with AI tools, developing content for an AI intranet site, and engaging with the OCHA-AI community. The intern will contribute to identifying and testing AI use cases, documenting learnings, and fostering knowledge sharing to enhance OCHA's operational efficiency and humanitarian coordination capabilities through AI adoption.
Responsibilities
Conduct research on emerging AI trends, tools, and best practices relevant to humanitarian coordination. Prepare internal reports and presentations on AI topics, sharing findings through online engagement. Explore and test AI tools through rapid prototyping, contributing to a Prompt Catalogue for generative AI. Document experimental learnings and share insights with the OCHA-AI community. Collaborate with teams to identify and assess AI use cases. Develop and maintain content for the OCHA AI Intranet site, including policies, guidance, and project updates. Support the OCHA-AI community of practice through engagement activities, communication materials, and addressing AI-related inquiries. Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and webinars to promote AI knowledge sharing.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, desirable experience includes basic exposure to AI tools (e.g., generative AI, low-code/no-code platforms) through academic projects or self-learning. Demonstrated research and analytical skills related to technology or AI are also desirable, as is experience supporting knowledge sharing or community engagement.
