Job Purpose
This internship within the UNECE Environment and Forests Division in Geneva offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical environmental work. The intern will support the preparation and publication of Environmental Performance Reviews (EPRs) for various countries and assist in the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Programme. This includes supporting joint working groups, EU-funded projects, national state of the environment reports, and capacity-building activities like webinars and document drafting. The role provides practical experience in international environmental policy and sustainable development initiatives, contributing to the division's mandate of promoting environmental protection and sustainable development.
Responsibilities
Provide general support for the preparation and publication of Environmental Performance Reviews (EPRs) for Moldova, Central Asia, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia. Assist the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Programme, including preparations for the Joint Working Group on Environmental statistics and indicators. Support an EU-funded project and the launch of a national state of the environment report. Engage in capacity-development activities such as organizing webinars and drafting/editing project documents and training materials. Offer general administrative assistance, including drafting and editing documents, conducting background research, and managing correspondence.
