Job Purpose
This consultancy role provides essential coordination support to UNEP's Sustainable Investments Unit, specifically for the Digital Demand Driven Electricity Networks Initiative (3DEN). The purpose is to facilitate the implementation and scaling of 3DEN by supporting programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, and project activity delivery across participating countries. The role also involves supporting the development of a 3DEN Finance Facility in Africa and maintaining a knowledge management platform to disseminate best practices and lessons learned from pilot projects. The ultimate goal is to enhance energy system efficiency, reliability, and sustainability through digital technologies and to inform policy and scale impact.
Responsibilities
Provide coordination support for the 3DEN initiative, including partner and stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management. Engage with donors, prepare materials, and manage project reporting for 3DEN activities. Lead communications, event management, and outreach for 3DEN pilot projects, developing and implementing content. Foster the development of the 3DEN Community and support its matchmaking and knowledge management platform. Assist in the development of the 3DEN Finance Facility. Support daily unit activities, including developing new project concepts, drafting proposals, and engaging in fundraising and donor mapping. Collect, analyze, and report data. Assist the Unit Head with hiring processes, including coordinating interviews and onboarding new personnel.
Work Experience
Prior experience in project management and coordination support for climate finance and mitigation-related activities is considered an asset. Experience working with UN agencies, particularly focusing on climate change and finance, is desirable.
