INFORMATION SYSTEMS OFFICER (CLOUD ENGINEER)
Organizational Context
The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) provides retirement, death, and disability benefits to UN staff and other member organizations. Administering benefits for over 80,000 beneficiaries and 150,000 participants, UNJSPF has offices in New York, Geneva, Nairobi, and Bangkok. This role is within the Enterprise Applications Section of Pension Administration in New York.
Job Purpose
This Information Systems Officer role supports the UNJSPF's mission by managing projects for new systems, implementing and operationalizing enterprise platforms for pension administration, and ensuring seamless integration between these systems and other enterprise platforms like ERP and ITSM. The role is crucial for maintaining and upgrading existing systems, providing user support, and ensuring data security. It also involves supporting cloud adoption, developing system specifications, conducting testing, and contributing to disaster recovery planning. The position aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the UNJSPF's information management systems, ensuring robust support for its beneficiaries and participants.
Responsibilities
Manage projects including feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, and implementation of moderately complex systems. Implement and operationalize enterprise platforms for pension administration and enabling services, including configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and stabilization. Deliver end-to-end integration between pension administration systems and enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, document management, ITSM), including API design and data mapping. Ensure systems are supported through ITIL-aligned processes for application operations. Support cloud adoption and migration activities, including integration patterns, environment management, and CI/CD enablement. Develop system specifications and user documentation. Provide specialized advice to users, analyze requirements, and troubleshoot systems. Maintain, upgrade, and enhance existing systems, providing user support. Develop and maintain enterprise systems, ensuring data security and access controls. Perform unit and integrated testing, and assist users with acceptance testing. Develop training materials and conduct staff training. Develop disaster recovery plans. Research and evaluate new technologies. Write reports on systems-related topics. Facilitate client communications and coordinate Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Manage contract administration with vendors. Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in planning, design, development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of computer information systems is required. Five years of experience with Oracle Fusion Financials or ERP Financial Suite (AR, AP, Cash Management, GL) is required. Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud or Oracle PaaS solutions, and designing/developing functional requirements and solution architecture in Cloud ERP and ITSM systems is desirable.
