Job Purpose

This internship in Data Research within the UN Secretariat's Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM) aims to provide interns with hands-on experience in data analysis and research. Interns will function as integral team members, contributing to projects that enhance OSCM's efficiency and responsiveness. The role involves gathering and analyzing data, developing reports, and assisting in the creation of data-driven solutions to support organizational planning and decision-making. Responsibilities

Gather and analyze data from diverse sources, employing statistical and mathematical programming. Develop reports and visual representations of data findings. Maintain and develop databases, providing technical assistance and advising on appropriate statistical methodologies. Support team members with data cleaning and database management. Create simple data visualizations independently for internal or external use. Translate complex data results into clear written reports or presentations for management. Identify and interpret trends and patterns using basic machine learning and statistical methods. Contribute to identifying innovative approaches and evidence-based reasoning for organizational issues, ensuring data quality for analyses. Assist in developing and delivering data science solutions to improve planning, decision-making, and program implementation.

No prior work experience is required for the UN Internship Programme. The focus is on the applicant's training, education, advanced coursework, or skills that can benefit the United Nations during the internship period.
