Job Purpose
This UNPAID internship within the Northeast Asia and Pacific Team aims to provide practical experience in political affairs and peacebuilding. The intern will support the team's work by assisting in research, preparing various documents and materials, developing strategic communications, and attending/servicing meetings. The role contributes to the broader efforts of the UN Secretariat in promoting peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region. The internship can be full-time (35 hours/week) for two months or part-time (20 hours/week) for four months, with potential extensions up to six months, and can be adapted to remote or in-person settings based on needs and requests.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide assistance in conducting research on UN peacebuilding efforts in Asia and the Pacific. Key duties include preparing reports, concept papers, policy documents, talking points, and articles. The role also involves supporting the development of strategic communications, presentations, and visualizations. Additionally, the intern will attend and take notes at conferences and meetings, assist in servicing these events, and support information and data management. Project management development will also be part of the responsibilities, contributing to the operational efficiency of the Northeast Asia and Pacific Team.
