Job Purpose
This role serves to provide essential oral and dental care services to registered Palestine refugees in the assigned location. The Dental Surgeon will conduct oral examinations, perform preventive management, and deliver treatment including minor surgeries and dental x-rays. Key responsibilities include maintaining infection control, contributing to oral health program evaluations, and providing training to Maternal and Child Health staff on preventive oral health programs. The position also involves promoting oral hygiene and raising awareness within the refugee community. The incumbent will work under the technical supervision of the Field Oral Health Services Officer and administrative supervision from the Head Health Centre.
Responsibilities
Perform periodic oral examinations and preventive management for school children, including sealant application. Conduct oral health screenings for preschool children, pregnant women, and patients with non-communicable diseases. Provide comprehensive oral and dental care services to registered refugees, including minor dental surgeries and dental x-rays. Maintain strict infection control procedures within the dental clinic. Contribute to the evaluation of the oral health program by collecting data through surveys. Train and support Maternal and Child Health staff on implementing oral health preventive programs. Ensure proper maintenance of dental supplies, instruments, and equipment. Promote oral hygiene and disseminate information on proper oral health practices. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience
A minimum of four years of progressively responsible professional experience in dental treatment, including dental surgery, is required. Experience in computer use and health applications is also noted.
