Organizational Context

Job Purpose
This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience within the UN Secretariat's DDR Branch. The intern will support critical functions related to disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration processes, contributing to peacebuilding efforts in diverse operational settings. The role involves research, document drafting, coordination support, and logistical assistance for capacity-building activities, directly aiding the Branch's mandate to prevent conflict and sustain peace across the full conflict continuum.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in drafting and reviewing internal documents such as briefing notes and reports. Key duties include conducting research on current DDR developments in assigned countries, supporting DDR-related coordination mechanisms like the Inter-Agency Working Group, and aiding in the design and logistical arrangements for capacity-building activities.
