Job Purpose
This internship within UNEP's Climate Finance Unit in Nairobi aims to support the Unit's fundraising strategy and enhance donor engagement. The intern will monitor funding opportunities, conduct market research on donor priorities and trends, and assist in developing compelling proposals and presentations. The role contributes to strengthening UNEP's capacity to secure resources for climate change adaptation and resilience initiatives, supporting sustainable development and environmental policy implementation globally. The intern will also assist in compiling data and impact narratives for reporting and coordination efforts.
Responsibilities
Support the monitoring of calls for proposals and funding opportunities, assisting in drafting concept notes and proposals. Conduct market research and competitive landscape analysis to inform the Unit's fundraising strategy, including mapping donor priorities and partnership opportunities. Prepare pitch decks, presentations, and briefing materials for donor engagement. Compile data, case studies, and impact narratives for fundraising and reporting documents. Coordinate with other units to identify synergies and mutual interventions. Participate in internal meetings and assist in preparing reports and communication resources. Undertake other duties as required.
