Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide hands-on experience in intergovernmental affairs, strategic communications, and knowledge management within ESCAP. The intern will support the Secretary of the Commission in preparing and delivering annual sessions, organizing meetings, and assisting with member state negotiations. The role offers a comprehensive understanding of ESCAP's operations and its activities in the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to the effective functioning of intergovernmental platforms and the dissemination of development-related information. This position is ideal for individuals seeking practical exposure to international cooperation and sustainable development initiatives.
Responsibilities
Assist in the logistics and preparation for intergovernmental meetings, including registration, presentations, and procedural scripts. Support the preparation of briefing materials, talking points, and meeting notes. Contribute to website content creation and updates, and assist in developing communication materials. Perform tasks related to strategic communications and public information. Support the daily management and activities of the Secretary of the Commission's team, including issue management and stakeholder coordination. Provide ad-hoc administrative support as required.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, a strong academic background in a relevant field is necessary. Familiarity with standard software applications is expected, with experience in Adobe Creative Studio, Drupal, HTML, and CSS being desirable.
