IC Welder

Organizational Context

The United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) requires an IC Welder for a one-month assignment at Camp Zouani. This role is crucial for the successful execution of welding and structural metal works necessary for installing 12 kWp solar PV hybrid power supply systems across multiple sites.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure the secure and stable installation of solar PV panels by performing all necessary welding and structural metal fabrication. This includes creating durable frames and brackets for rooftop panel support, fabricating additional structures as needed, and constructing reinforced concrete foundations. The welder's work directly contributes to the long-term performance, safety, and stability of the solar power systems, enabling reliable energy supply in the designated areas. The role is essential for the physical integrity of the solar installations.

Responsibilities

Execute all welding and structural metal works for the installation of 12 kWp solar PV hybrid power supply systems. This involves on-site cutting and welding of metal sections to fabricate durable frames and brackets for rooftop solar PV panel support. Mount 208 solar PV panels (415 W each) on newly constructed welded support structures across multiple sites. Fabricate, weld, and construct additional mounted support structures as required. Construct reinforced concrete pad foundations for metal section pillars to ensure the stability and safety of the PV panel mounting systems.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in welding metal work with a recognized organization is required. Experience working at height on elevated structures, in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions, and with relevant hand tools and electrical equipment is also necessary.
