Job Purpose
This internship supports the Press and External Relations Section of UNIS Geneva. The Social Media Intern will assist in planning, creating, and curating daily social media content across multiple platforms. This role involves gathering and editing multimedia information, monitoring news, and contributing to the UN's online presence to inform global audiences about UN activities and its role in diplomacy and multilateralism.
Responsibilities
Plan, create, and curate daily social media content using Trello Boards and maintain editorial calendars. Collect and edit multimedia information from various departments. Monitor sources for relevant news and information concerning the UN. Edit and subtitle news videos using Adobe Premiere Pro, and create visuals using tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop. Attend press conferences and events to gather content, including photos and videos. Draft posts for X, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Research trends, monitor social media accounts, and respond to follower inquiries. Conduct weekly and monthly analytics reporting using Excel and Google Looker Studio. Summarize press briefings and draft press releases. Contribute to daily media monitoring of Swiss newspapers.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is strictly required. However, candidates should highlight any relevant training, education, coursework, or practical skills, especially in communication, social media campaigns, and photo/video editing software.
