Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to provide comprehensive support to the CMCS training lead within the UN Secretariat's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The intern will play a key role in the preparation, administration, and delivery of UN-CMCoord training programs, including managing participant communications and logistics. Additionally, the intern will contribute to the maintenance and development of training modules and the UN-CMCoord training website, ensuring the effectiveness and accessibility of learning resources. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in humanitarian training and knowledge management.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation and delivery of UN-CMCoord training programs by assisting with event administration, participant communication, and logistical arrangements. Contribute to the maintenance and refinement of UN-CMCoord Adaptable Training Modules (ATM) by tracking inconsistencies, recording policy changes, and updating content. Maintain the UN-CMCoord Training site by resolving technical issues and suggesting platform improvements. Conduct research on civil-military coordination, humanitarian access, and protection. Assist in training delivery, reporting, and knowledge management activities. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support CMCS operations.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this UN Internship Programme. However, experience in training support is required. Knowledge of standard software applications (MS Office Suite, MS Teams), collaborative tools (Google Workspace), and Adobe Suite (InDesign) is necessary. Experience with Microsoft Access and knowledge management is desirable.
