This role supports ESCAP's energy division, specifically its work on energy connectivity and regulatory harmonization in Southeast Asia, contributing to the integration of power systems and renewable energy deployment.

Job Purpose

This Project Researcher role aims to support the delivery of key ESCAP initiatives focused on energy connectivity and regulatory harmonization in Southeast Asia. The purpose is to facilitate the integration of power systems and increase renewable energy deployment by providing research, communication, and capacity-building support. The role will contribute to strengthening regulatory frameworks, fostering cross-border power trade, and enhancing collaboration among energy regulators and stakeholders, ultimately supporting the region's sustainable energy goals and the development of the ASEAN Power Grid.

Responsibilities

The Project Researcher will provide crucial support for the Asia Pacific Regulatory Forum and capacity-building initiatives for ASEAN regulators. Key duties include communicating with stakeholders, preparing meeting materials such as memos and agendas, and conducting research on relevant issues. The role also involves developing communication products, including written content, infographics, and digital materials, to enhance the visibility of project activities. Additionally, the researcher will undertake ad hoc assignments as requested, contributing to the overall success of ESCAP's energy connectivity and regulatory harmonization strategies in the region.

Work Experience

The role requires experience in providing support for forums and capacity-building activities. This includes experience in stakeholder communication, preparing meeting documentation, and conducting research. Experience in developing communication materials such as written content, infographics, and digital assets is also beneficial for this position.
