Organizational Context

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is implementing a Development Account Project focused on building disaster and climate resilience in food and energy systems across the Asia-Pacific region. This project aims to address compounding crises and strengthen regional economies and societies against various shocks, supporting Sustainable Development Goals.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide crucial data processing and GIS-based analytical support for the Development Account Project. The Individual Contractor will develop interactive storyboards for pilot countries and the region, visualize risk hotspots for food and energy systems, and facilitate the creation of project materials for regional meetings and events. This role directly contributes to enhancing the capacity of target countries to manage climate and disaster risks and build long-term resilience in critical sectors.

Responsibilities

The Individual Contractor will develop draft storyboards in PowerPoint for pilot countries (Bhutan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Armenia) and a regional storyboard focusing on food and energy risk hotspots. This includes transforming PowerPoint narratives into interactive portal products. The role also involves facilitating the development of materials for regional meetings and supporting CARA video production, coordination, storyboard, and technical report development. The contractor will assist in disseminating project outcomes and providing support for project-related meetings and events.

Work Experience

The role requires knowledge and experience in disaster risk reduction. Specific years of experience are not detailed, but the focus is on practical application within the project's scope.
