Organizational Context
The Innovation and Analytics Hub (the Hub) is the UN Secretariat's first dedicated center for innovation and analytics in human rights, operating under the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva. It serves as a Centre of Excellence, advancing the Secretary-General’s “Quintet of Change” and strengthening the Organization’s analytical and operational capacities through data and digital solutions.
Job Purpose
This internship offers motivated individuals the opportunity to contribute to the Innovation and Analytics Hub at OHCHR. Interns will be assigned to specific workstreams, gaining practical experience in areas such as strategic coordination, digital transformation, data analytics, or human rights risk analysis. The role aims to create lasting impact by supporting the Hub's mission to harness advanced data analytics and emerging technologies for human rights. Interns will work as full team members, contributing to projects and gaining valuable insights into the UN System's work in human rights.
Responsibilities
Interns will contribute to various Hub workstreams, including Strategic Coordination and Planning, Digital Transformation and AI, Data and Analytics, and Human Rights Risk Analysis and Early Warning. Specific duties may involve facilitating meetings, creating analytics products, monitoring strategic initiatives, supporting innovation communities, conducting research for resource mobilization, planning and executing digital transformation projects, developing data analytics tools, integrating emerging technologies, providing technical support, collecting and verifying data, developing analytical products and indicators, and monitoring/reporting on human rights risks and crisis situations.
