Internship - Implementation Support and International Development

Organizational Context

The International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) Air Navigation Bureau (ANB) provides technical guidance and expertise in aviation disciplines to member states and industry. Within ANB, the Implementation Support Planning and Coordination Section (ISPC) manages and coordinates implementation support activities, working closely with regional offices and other bureaus to build capacity and manage voluntary contributions.

Job Purpose

This internship within ICAO's Air Navigation Bureau, specifically the Implementation Support Planning and Coordination Section (ISPC), offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of aviation support initiatives. The intern will gain practical experience by assisting in the creation of an implementation support platform, contributing to project planning and documentation, monitoring key performance indicators, and supporting reporting and outreach activities. This role is designed to provide hands-on learning in project coordination, capacity building, and communication within the international aviation sector, under the guidance of experienced staff.

Responsibilities

The intern will contribute to the development and implementation of a dedicated MS SharePoint-based implementation support platform. Responsibilities include assisting in the creation of information and recommendations for project plans, peer review reports, and project completion documents. The intern will also help identify and monitor key performance indicators for implementation support activities. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and briefings, as well as supporting internal promotion activities and the development of outreach materials to communicate project results. Other assigned tasks will also be undertaken.

Work Experience

Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Desirable: Experience with collaborative documentation tools or work management platforms, knowledge of ICAO, the aviation sector, or the UN system, and practical experience in data processing, programming, or web design.
