IT Project Manager Consultant (ITS)
Organizational Context
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Job Purpose
To manage assigned IT projects, enhance project management practices within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department, and establish AI-enabled delivery methods for sustained use by ITS staff.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of critical IT projects, ensuring delivery through effective planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Assess and improve existing project management practices, aligning with UNICC engagement outcomes. Implement and coach staff on AI-enabled project delivery methods, focusing on automation and efficiency. Oversee vendor performance and project budgets. Ensure comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer for project continuity.
Work Experience
At least five years of progressively responsible experience managing IT projects in complex enterprise environments, including at least five years managing multiple concurrent projects with budgets, external vendors, and executive-level sponsors. Demonstrated experience managing enterprise applications, cloud, data, and infrastructure projects through their full lifecycle. Experience with multiple delivery methods (predictive, agile, hybrid). Proven experience establishing or improving project management practices, governance, or a PMO. Verifiable experience applying AI tooling in project delivery. Experience managing external vendors and systems integrators. Experience in a multicultural, geographically distributed environment is a strong asset. Experience with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Salesforce, or Workday, and with organizational change management is desirable.
