Job Purpose

Community consultant to implement hygiene and sanitation measures for waste management in the Guineales and Xejuyup districts (Sololá). Provide technical assistance in implementing hygiene and sanitation measures for waste management in the communities of Xejuyup and Guineales in the Department of Sololá, as part of the SAFE Strategy for the elimination of Trachoma and other neglected diseases.

Responsibilities

Implement hygiene and sanitation measures for waste management in the Guineales and Xejuyup districts (Sololá). Provide technical assistance in implementing hygiene and sanitation measures for waste management in the communities of Xejuyup and Guineales in the Department of Sololá, as part of the SAFE Strategy for the elimination of Trachoma and other neglected diseases. Design and implement actions and strategies for health promotion and education on good practices for solid waste management within the SAFE strategy for trachoma elimination in the prioritized communities of Xejuyup and Guineales. Develop and implement a modular curriculum and content guide considering local problems, perceptions, and cultural barriers for local waste management. Conduct training workshops for primary healthcare personnel and key population groups on waste management practices. Prepare a final report on the implementation scope with recommendations for future activities.

Work Experience

At least 5 years of experience in community training and capacity building processes. Experience in designing solid waste management programs and hygiene/sanitation measures. Experience in designing, developing, and applying graphic or audiovisual materials for health promotion, education, and behavior change processes.

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with communities with different languages and worldviews. Capacity to work with multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques as required. Immediate availability.
