Human Resources Technician I (CO)

Organizational Context

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Job Purpose

To support the effective delivery of human resources services in the PAHO/WHO Country Office in Haiti.

Responsibilities

Assist and coordinate recruitment and selection processes. Prepare and process personnel actions, contracts, and job requisitions. Administer HR policies, procedures, benefits, and entitlements. Provide guidance to staff and candidates on employment conditions and personnel matters. Support workforce planning, staff development, and performance management. Serve as a focal point for HR matters with Headquarters and support emergency response operations. Draft correspondence related to HR responsibilities.

Work Experience

Six years of experience in administrative work, preferably in human resources functions.

Skills

Knowledge of human resources practices, procedures, policies, regulations, and guidelines. Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to maintain databases and prepare reports. Ability to research, analyze, organize, and present information effectively. Ability to coordinate and manage administrative and HR processes. Strong written communication skills in French and English. High level of sensitivity, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively use current technology and software, including Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Word.
