PAHO Consultant - "HEARTS 2.0 Clinical Tools, Medicines, and Devices"

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Job Purpose
Provide specialized technical assistance to support PAHO and countries implementing HEARTS in the development, updating, dissemination, and implementation of the HEARTS 2.0 clinical strategy, focusing on clinical tools, medicines, and devices for integrated cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic care in primary health care.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of a roadmap for updating HEARTS 2.0 Clinical Pathways in implementing countries. Provide technical inputs for updating the HEARTS App clinical content. Develop a framework for PAHO's market-shaping strategy for priority medicines and health technologies. Contribute to an engagement and dissemination plan for HEARTS 2.0. Support the development of a recruitment and training package for HEARTS clinical consultants. Prepare technical documents, training materials, presentations, and manuscripts on HEARTS 2.0 implementation.
Work Experience
Minimum of fourteen (14) years of clinical practice in cardiovascular or related care. Experience in organizing, implementing, or managing cardiovascular care health systems is an asset. Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in analyzing and synthesizing clinical and public health evidence for developing clinical tools, practice guidelines, or policy products. Prior experience with PAHO/WHO, ministries of health, or international organizations is highly desirable. Experience with HEARTS or similar multi-country initiatives is a strong asset.
Skills
Solid knowledge of evidence-based cardiovascular prevention and management, including integrated cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic care. Expertise in critical appraisal and synthesis of scientific evidence for clinical pathways and guidelines. Ability to prepare high-quality technical documents, guidance materials, training resources, and scientific manuscripts. Experience providing technical support within multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with implementation science, quality improvement, and health systems strengthening is desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with supervisors.
