PAHO Consultant - Technical Cooperation Support
Organizational Context
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Job Purpose
To provide technical cooperation support for the effective programmatic implementation, monitoring, and reporting of activities under the Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative, focusing on strengthening Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) systems, ICD-11 implementation, Digital Transformation, interoperability, and the improved production, availability, quality, and use of birth and mortality data for decision-making in the Region of the Americas.
Responsibilities
Support project planning, implementation, and monitoring; prepare technical summaries, progress updates, and donor reporting materials; maintain project documentation and support knowledge management; coordinate activities with PAHO country offices, consultants, and partners; facilitate coordination of CRVS, ICD-11, and digital health activities; assist knowledge exchange through workshops and training; support CRVS digital transformation, ICD-11 readiness, interoperability, and data quality improvement; prepare briefing notes and follow up on action points; collect evidence for deliverables and maintain an organized repository; coordinate input from Technical and Administrative teams; facilitate coordination and logistical planning of regional and country-level technical cooperation activities, workshops, training, and meetings; follow up on travel arrangements; perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of professional experience in international cooperation, project coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Demonstrated experience in the organization of regional or international events. Knowledge of health information systems, digital health, CRVS, or data management is desirable, as is prior experience with PAHO, WHO, and/or other UN agencies, and experience working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

Strong project coordination and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders; excellent writing and reporting skills; ability to synthesize technical information into clear documents; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and project management platforms; strong interpersonal communication skills in multicultural environments; proven competency in the use of standard Office and statistical applications and research tools.
Required Languages
Very good knowledge of English and Spanish.
Desired Languages
Basic knowledge of French and/or Portuguese.
