The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Job Purpose

To implement geocoded capture mechanisms in the SIP plus system for pregnant women's residence, incorporate mapping and basic spatial analysis functionalities, correct errors, conduct system tests, ensure new functionalities have technical documentation and sustainability guidelines, and improve clinical history search algorithms.

Responsibilities

Implement geocoded capture mechanisms for pregnant women's residence in SIP plus; incorporate mapping and basic spatial analysis functionalities; correct errors and test the system; ensure new functionalities have technical documentation, validation, testing, and sustainability guidelines; improve clinical history search algorithms; support countries in SIP+ implementation by integrating with their HIS; improve and maintain SIP+ and MiSIP platforms; collaborate with various teams to support users, partners, and stakeholders; work closely with technical teams to ensure system features are delivered as planned; perform other related tasks as assigned.

Work Experience

Required: At least 4-5 years of national and international experience in implementing Health Information Systems, SCALA software development, building RESTful API applications, and developing NoSQL document-oriented databases like CouchDB. Extensive experience developing applications using programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, Visual Basic. Desirable: 3 or more years of experience with GitHub or similar version control systems and strong collaboration skills with the ability to document requirements for short and long-term projects.
